Built to last

Well-maintained Discovery 300 TDi vehicles are capable of giving owners
up to 15 years service, or mileages up to and beyond 150,000. A Discovery from
Japan is like buying a nearly new 300 Series and will give you many years of service
as a dependable workhorse.
‘I put in a request for information about high mileage TDi vehicles
on lro.com and was overwhelmed by the response. Usually, when
a car reaches the 100,000-mile mark, it’s considered worn out.
But judging by the replies, 100,000 miles on a TDi is barely
worn in.’
Neil Watterson

The 300 TDi series is many people’s favourite and has become a ‘4WD icon’. At Car Equality we offer you the unique chance to own a TDi Discovery that is in a rare, rust-free condition.
Car Equality’s 4x4 Division Director, Darren Ingham says “The 300 TDi is a
proven all-rounder and it has earned a great reputation. We pride ourselves
on the preparation of our cars. The vehicles we hand pick in Japan are
exceptional and our customers and enthusiasts all comment on the amazing
condition when they see them.”
Comparing the 300 TDi with the TD5
The TD5 (Series II) Discovery was introduced in 1998, with subtle interior and exterior design modifications, but it still retained the distinguishable appearance of the Series I. The TD5 model was not exported to Japan and therefore used vehicles now on the market will have been exposed to UK weather and salted roads. However, the Series II V8 4.0 petrol was exported to Japan.
Due to a few technical issues, the TD5 has never quite achieved the reputation of the 300 TDi. The 300 TDi has been the choice of military forces, charity and relief organisations, emergency services, agricultural and business users. From Iceland to Africa, the Discovery TDi has proved to be a real winner in all terrain, tackling snow, mud and desert.
The British Army still uses 300TDi engined vehicles as a preferred choice rather than
the TD5 version to retain simple and lower cost servicing. We believe you may want to
consider buying a Discovery 300 Series 2.5 TDi in excellent condition from Japan for the same reasons.
